Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is BGSU's Content Management System (CMS). AEM is used to manage BGSU webpages and assets.

Auxiliary Systems

BGSU has a number of applications in use across campus. Auxiliary applications consist of any application that is not PeopleSoft, OnBase, or Communications related. Due to this, Auxiliary applications consist of a wide range of applications from Chrome River to WorkNet.

Avalon

Avalon is an online service that provides round-the-clock access to streaming audio and video content. This content includes course reserve materials, library-owned items, and locally created content from campus departments.

BGSU Event Calendar/Localist

The BGSU public calendar located at events.bgsu.edu is powered by Localist and managed by the Office of Marketing & Communications and includes events scheduled on campus by departments, colleges, student organizations, the BGSU community, etc.

Bridge Training Portal

Bridge is the application used by BGSU for faculty, staff and students, to administer employee compliance, professional development and user training. Bridge is used as a scheduling tool for in-person training as well as for management of online training content. This system allows employees to search out training content without intervention and allows administrators to push content to certain populations.

Canvas

Canvas is our primary learning management system.  It provides tools and features leveraged by instructors for teaching at BGSU.  The Center for Faculty Excellence provides instruction and training for faculty who are using this application.  Course site creation and enrollment is managed through an interface with our Peoplesoft Campus Solutions system.

Course Evaluation (Formerly EvaluationKIT)

Course Evaluation (Formerly EvaluationKIT) is the chosen online platform for providing course evaluation services to BGSU. The Office of Academic Assessment coordinates a University-wide evaluation of teaching and learning using this tool. Departments are invited to integrate its course evaluation program with this service. Departments should contact the assessment office by emailing assessment@bgsu.edu to sign up. Departments can also request a separate Course Evaluation account to perform independent course evaluations using the link below.

Electronic Signature

To increase the efficiency and speed of transactions that require authorization by signature, BGSU encourages the use of Electronic Signatures applications, the university’s approved electronic signature application. BGSU currently uses AdobeSign for electronic signatures.

Enterprise Reporting

Enterprise Reporting provides a comprehensive reporting capability that encompasses student academics, student financial aid, University finance and University human capital management. Reports may be accessed through the Falcon Info: STARS data warehouse, the Web Report Library or PowerBI.

Four Winds (Digital Signage)

Four Winds is the university-supported software used to manage digital signage across campus. Use this page to request access to the software, report an issue, or to order a new sign for your BGSU department.

OnBase

OnBase is a document imaging and management system. OnBase is often used to archive documents which have a defined retention policy that is several years long.

OnBase can provide for workflows and a multiplicity of security constraints on user access to documents.

To access OnBase, users must be on campus or using VPN.

PeopleSoft (CSS/FMS/HCM)

BGSU has invested in Oracle's PeopleSoft suite of applications as the University's ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. The ERP system provides for the integration of data and processing into a unified system that provides for maximum information integration and accessibility throughout the University.

PeopleSoft is comprised of three major components:

Campus Solutions (CSS)
Financial Management System (FMS)
Human Capital Management (HCM)

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is a survey application that allows the user to build surveys to gain insight into areas such as institutional assessment, faculty evaluation and student satisfaction. Survey capabilities conditional display logic (e.g. only show a question based on the response of another question) branch and skip logic. Triggers can be set to produce email messages based on a response to a question, surveys can be distributed through anonymous links and can be set to produce automated thank yous and reminders. The tool offers a variety of reporting options for analyzing data gathered. The lead functional area for this application is Institutional Research (IR).

SharePoint Sites & MS Teams

SharePoint Sites is a powerful tool that provides departments, project teams and communities at BGSU the ability to share and collaborate on files via the web. Sites are packaged with a variety of valuable features that are not readily available within standard network file shares. Using Sites one can:

- Create team sites and document libraries to keep files organized
- Set controls limiting who can see and/or edit your documents
- Follow documents, people and tags to stay informed about projects and activities
- Post questions and ideas to the newsfeed for users to view and add comments
- Collaborate on Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Create versions of files for future comparison
- Use metadata to categorize content and create customized views

Single Sign-on (SSO)

Single sign-on (SSO) is a session and user authentication service that permits a user to use one set of login credentials (BGSU username & password). Use the service in this category to request new SSO configuration or changes to an existing SSO configuration.

Turnitin

Turnitin is the originality checking and plagiarism prevention service used by Bowling Green State University.

Video Insight

Video Insight is secure video camera system that provides managed access to live and/or recorded footage to any security camera(s) on the network.

ZDAM

ZDAM is BGSU's digital asset management solution that serves as a single repository for rich media assets including videos, photos, Microsoft Word documents, PDFs, audio files and more. Users can easily search for assets within ZDAM to recall, re-purpose, and re-distribute as needed.

Zoom

Zoom is a video and web-conferencing tool available to BGSU faculty, staff and students to support working, teaching and learning remotely and online.
