Cisco Jabber

Cisco Jabber is the university-supported instant messaging application that allows faculty and staff to communicate while on campus. The Jabber tool integrates with your university telephone and syncs with Outlook calendars, offers notifications, click-to-call capabilities, and a directory of campus users.

Bomgar (Live Chat)

In an effort to provide better service, the TSC is now using a remote assistance application known as Bomgar. Bomgar simplifies support by letting our technicians remotely control computers and smart phones. With your permission, using Bomgar, our technicians can view what you see and control your computer for troubleshooting support. This application will improve our ability to decrease on-site visits, reduce phone support, and will assist the TSC in responding effectively to peaks in demand from our customers. The TSC will be able to resolve more incidents immediately as well as increase the number of issues we can resolve during our first point of contact with our clients.

Video Conferencing

BGSU offers several video conferencing tools from Cisco; one of which is WebEx (comparable to Skype and GoToMeeting). WebEx allows users to schedule and conduct online meetings or quick video calls with anyone who has an internet connection. In addition to WebEx, select BGSU classrooms and conference rooms have Cisco Telepresence installed. These telepresence rooms can digitally dial other rooms with similar technology in place.
