How do I connect my personal computer to the eduroam network?
Answer
These settings will connect you to the eduroam wireless network. You will only need to follow these steps once per device.
Connect Windows Computer to eduroam
Connect Mac Computer to eduroam
Connect Chromebook to eduroam
If you experience issues connecting your device to eduroam, please view these troubleshooting articles.
- In the taskbar, select the Wi-Fi/Internet icon.
- Select the eduroam network from the list of available networks.
- Select connect automatically so you don't have to manually connect to the eduroam network each time you log on to your device.
- Select Connect, and then select Connect again.
- Select OK to enter your BGSU email address (user@bgsu.edu) and password on the authentic Windows sign-in screen.
- Select Connect. Once connected you should see connected/secured under the eduroam network on your device.
- Select the Wi-Fi icon in the top toolbar and select eduroam from the list of available networks.
- A prompt will open asking for credentials. Enter your BGSU username (include @bgsu.edu) and password.
- Check the box next to Remember this network, then click Join.
BGSU currently only supports connecting your Chromebook to the internet. There are no supported applications or tools beyond connecting. If you would like to check your BGSU Email, please use the BGSU Webmail option.
- To connect to the Wi-Fi, first select the eduroam network from you list of available networks.
- When asked to input settings, please enter the settings below:
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
- Server CA certificate: Do not check
- Identity: Your BGSU username
- Password: Your BGSU Password
- Anonymous identity: Leave this blank
- Select Save identity and password.
- Select Connect.
