How do I log into CrashPlan?

Locate the CrashPlan icon (a blue/green folder icon). On a PC the icon will be located in the system tray in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. It may be hidden and can be found by selecting the carrot (^). On a Mac the icon will be located in the finder bar in the upper right corner of the screen.
Select the CrashPlan icon to expand the options.
Select the gear icon on the CrashPlan window.
Select the Open CrashPlan option.
Login with your BGSU username and password via the SSO login screen.

How do I check when CrashPlan last backed up?

Log in to CrashPlan.
Your last backup time and next backup time will be listed on the home screen.

How do I force a CrashPlan backup?

How do I restore a file or set of files in CrashPlan?

NOTE: For security purposes, files can only be restored on your primary device when logged in as yourself.

Follow instructions on tab above to log into CrashPlan
Select Restore Files from the main window (blue button in the upper right corner of application).
Select the folder(s) or file(s) you want to restore or search for folders or files using magnifying glass button.
At the top of the window, select the version date of the file you want to restore (default is "As of Today").
After selecting the files, select the Restore Files button at bottom of screen.
On the File Restore Options screen, select location to restore files:
1. AVOID: The Desktop option copies files and folders directly to the desktop. If more than a couple of files or folders this will clutter or crowd the Desktop.
2. The Downloads option copies files and folders to the downloads folder. Files are not grouped together but rather sorted how that directory is currently sorted.
3. The Original Location option will copy all the files and folders back to the location from which they were originally backed up.
4. RECOMMENDED: The Other option will allow you to specify a folder into which the files will be copied and then you can move them back to the original location if desired.
Select whether to rename/overwrite any existing files or rename the original files.
Select whether you want to restore the file with the current or original permissions (i.e. original permissions = when the file was uploaded).
Select Go to restore the selected files and folders.

How do I turn on the CrashPlan icon if it is missing from my system tray or menu bar?

Launch CrashPlan from the Start Menu on a PC or the Applications menu or folder on a Mac.
In the CrashPlan application, select Settings from the main window (gear icon in upper right corner).
Under General, click to turn ON both the "Display CrashPlan icon in notification area" and "Display CrashPlan icon in notification area on login" sliders.
Close all open CrashPlan windows.
