Outlook/Webmail Focused Inbox and How Can I Turn It Off?

Question

What is Focused Inbox? How can I turn it off?

Answer

Focused Inbox helps to filter your email so that you only see what you want to see by focusing on the messages that matter most to the user. Think of it as the "opposite of Clutter". While Microsoft typically successfully sorts messages, to be sure that you are seeing all of your emails, all of the time, you can turn off the feature by following the instructions below.

  1. Select the Gear Icon located in the upper right corner of your WebMail.
  2. Choose View all Outlook settings listed at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
  3. Go to Mail>Layout>Focused Inbox and then click on Don't sort my messages.
  4. Click on Save.
  5. Focused Inbox should now be turned off.
