How do I use DUO while traveling out of the country?

The Duo mobile app can be used for Two Factor Authentication even if there is no cellular or internet connection available on your device.  Please follow the steps below to login using Two Factor Authentication under these circumstances. If you do not have a smartphone or tablet and are not planning to have telephone service while abroad, a Duo Security Token must be used and can be purchased from ITS (contact ITS at 419-372-0999 for more information).

Note: You must have DUO mobile configured on your smartphone or tablet before attempting the following:

1. Initiate a login by attempting to access a Duo protected service and entering your BGSU username/password and then open the Duo Mobile app on your device.
2. Tap on Bowling Green State University.
   • A six digit number will appear on the screen.
3. In your web browser, select  the button entitled Enter a Passcode. 
4. Enter the six digit number in the field. 
5. Select the Log In button.

**Please do not approve Duo authentication requests if you have not attempted to log in to a protected service. For more information review this article**
