Connect Windows Computer to eduroam Network

Question

How do I connect my Windows computer to the eduroam network?

Answer

These settings will connect you to the eduroam wireless network.  You will only need to follow these steps once per device. If you have previously signed in to the secureBG network, please review the steps at the bottom of this page to "forget" the network prior to setting up your device to auto-connect to eduroam.

Instructions for connecting to the eduroam network

  1. In the taskbar, select the Wi-Fi/Internet icon.
  2. Select the eduroam network from the list of available networks.
  3. Select connect automatically so you don't have to reconfigure the eduroam network each time you log on to your device.
  4. Select Connect, and then select Connect again.
  5. Select OK to enter your BGSU email address (user@bgsu.edu) and password on the authentic Windows sign-in screen.
  6. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE  to enter your credentials.
  7. Enter your BGSU email address (user@bgsu.edu) and password when prompted.
  8. Select Connect. Once connected you should see connected/secured under the eduroam network on your device.

Instructions for forgetting a network

If you have connected to the secureBG network in the past, and would like to configure your device to auto-connect to the eduroam network, you will first need to "forget" the secureBG network (or other network you may be connected to), and then complete the steps above. To "forget" a network, follow these instructions:

  1. In the taskbar, select the Wi-Fi/Internet icon.
  2. Select Network Settings
  3. Select Manage Known Networks
  4. Select the network you would like to forget (SecureBG), and then Select Forget.
