Question
What is external email tagging?
Answer
External email tagging is a precautionary cybersecurity technique that allows for tagging of email messages not originating from a BGSU email account. Tagging provides an extra warning when an external email is sent to your BGSU account. The [EXTERNAL] tag will appear each time an email is sent to you from a non-BGSU email account.
All emails originating from outside of the University should be approached with caution and the addition of email tagging serves as a reminder to think twice before clicking on links or opening attachments from unknown senders.
