ListServ Unauthorized Error Message


Why did a user receive an "Unauthorized" error message when attempting to send a message to a ListServ?


Follow the steps below to verify the user is authorized to send to the list.

  1. Login to
  2. Select the List Management dropdown.
  3. Select Subscriber Management. 
  4. Select the list you need to verify. 
  5. Search the list for the user's name.
  6. Verify that the correct email address is listed.
    • ListServ does not recognize older BGSU email addresses (ex:
  7. Verify that they have authorization to send.
  8. Select Update. 
  9. Verify (after 10-15 minutes) that the user can now send to the ListServ.
