How do I enable live transcription in Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams offers built-in transcription capabilities that can be used during Microsoft Teams meetings. The transcriptions appear in real time and include speaker names and time stamps.

To enable live transcription:

Meeting Recordings

Select Record during your meeting. This will automatically prompt transcriptions to begin.

Transcriptions Only

  1. Select More Actions from the meeting controls.  
  2. Select Record and transcribe.  
  3. Select Start transcription.  
  4. Confirm the language of the meeting speakers.  
  5. Select Confirm.
