How Do I Get Access to Power BI?

All active BGSU faculty and staff have access to Power BI as part of the University's license agreement with Microsoft. To request access to the Print Billing Department's reports, see the next panel.

How Do I Request/Gain Access to the Print Billing Department's Reports in Power BI?

If you do not see the Print Billing Department's reports or the PBI_Budget_Administrator workspace in Power BI, you can request access by following these instructions:

Navigate to the Power BI Request form.
Select Submit Request Form.
In the form under question "What would you like to request?", select Workspace Access.
Under "Name of the requested workspace" enter PBI_Budget_Administrator.
Select Viewer as the type of access.
If you don't know you DGC Sponsor, select Other.
Complete the rest of the form accordingly and select Submit when finished.

How Do I Report an Issue With My Report, Request a Change or Ask a Question About My Report?

You can report an issue/discrepancy with your report, request a change to your report or ask a question about your report by submitting a Print Responsibly / Papercut Billing Questions or Assistance Request form.

How Do I Request Detailed Monthly Print Usage Reports from PaperCut?

You can request detailed monthly print usage reports from PaperCut by submitting the Request Print Responsibly/PaperCut Report for Office Printer form.

With the Change to Power BI Print Billing Reporting, Will I Still Receive My Detailed Monthly Print Usage Reports from Power BI?

Yes, you will still receive a separate print billing email directly from PaperCut if you had previously requested detailed monthly printer usage reports from ITS. The names of those reports are as follows:

Printer usage - logs (sample)
Printer usage - user summary (sample)
User printing - printer summary (sample)

When Will My Report Be Available for Viewing?

Reports for the previous month's usage will be available in Power BI on the 6th of each month.

When Should I Report Issues or Changes to My Reports?

You should plan to review the information in the reports from the 6th-15th of each month. If you identify issues/discrepancies with the data in these reports, please submit a Print Responsibly / Papercut Billing Questions or Assistance form to ITS by the 15th of the month. You can expect to hear back regarding these issues/changes by the 20th. Any requests outside of this window may require a journal transfer.

Please be proactive in reviewing reports so that any errors are fixed prior to going to the Controller's Office on the 21st.
