How to Give a Student Extra Time On All Timed Quizzes in New Quizzes

How do I give a student accommodations on all timed quizzes in the New Quizzes engine? 

You can add accommodations for a student in New Quizzes. Accommodation settings include adding or removing time for all assessment attempts and multiplying time limits by a set multiplier. 

Accommodations apply to all assessments in a course for a student and only one accommodation can be set per student. Set accommodations can be viewed in the Accommodations column and in the Moderate panel.   

To manage timer settings for a single attempt, you can moderate a student's assessment attempt. Moderating an assessment attempt will apply any moderation settings on top of any set accommodations. 

Note: Quiz availability dates still apply when moderating a quiz. If the Until date passes before a student completes an extra attempt or extended-time quiz, any in-progress quizzes auto-submit and the quiz closes, even if the student's attempt has not expired. 

1. Navigate to your Canvas Course. 
2. From the course navigation on the left, select Quizzes. 
3. Select the name of the quiz. 
4. Select Build. 
5. Select the Moderate tab. 
6. Select the Edit icon next to the student’s name. 
7. In the Time Adjustments drop-down menu, select the time adjustment option for the student. 
   1. To add additional time to the attempt, select the Give additional time option from the Time Adjustments drop-down menu. Then, select the amount of time by entering hours or minutes in the text boxes or by using the arrow buttons. 
   2. To remove the time limit, select the Remove Time Limit (unlimited) option from the Time Adjustments drop-down menu. 
   3. To add a time limit multiplier, select the Time limit multiplier option from the Time Adjustments drop-down menu. Then, enter the multiplier in the Time limit multiplier field. 
   4. Select Save. 
8. The student’s accommodation will be available to view in the Accommodations column. The Accommodations column displays the cumulative effect of accommodations and moderation timer settings.
