What is a University-Owned Group Device?

Question

What classifies a BGSU device as a Group device?

Answer

A Group device is one that is used by multiple BGSU employees and/or student staff/graduate assistants. The device is assigned to a department rather than a single user. Examples of this type of device might be:

  • A small group of shared-use laptops used for fieldwork.
  • A small group of shared-use computers used in academic work areas, such as graduate/undergraduate lounges.
  • Shared student worker computers (such as those at a front desk).
