Zoom Co-Host

A Zoom co-host has most of the controls that hosts have, which allows them to manage the administrative side of the meeting, such as managing attendees. The host must assign a co-host during the meeting. Co-hosts cannot start a meeting. If a host needs someone else to start the meeting, they can assign an alternative host.

Zoom Alternative Host

Alternative hosts share the same controls as co-hosts, but can also start the meeting. Hosts can assign alternative hosts when they schedule a meeting. Only users with a BGSU Zoom account can be added as an alternate host when scheduling a meeting.

Designating an Alternative Host

Active BGSU students, faculty and staff have a Zoom Education license. Users with a Zoom Education license can host up to two meetings at the same time. Both meetings need to be started by the original meeting host or by an alternative host. The host can leave the meeting and pass host privileges to another user if needed.

Note: While these users can have two concurrent active meetings, by default they will be unable to join multiple meetings simultaneously on the desktop client.
