Zoom Co-Host
A Zoom co-host has most of the controls that hosts have, which allows them to manage the administrative side of the meeting, such as managing attendees. The host must assign a co-host during the meeting. Co-hosts cannot start a meeting. If a host needs someone else to start the meeting, they can assign an alternative host.
Instructions for assigning a co-host for a Zoom meeting are available on the Zoom website here:
Enabling & Adding a Co-Host
Zoom Alternative Host
Alternative hosts share the same controls as co-hosts, but can also start the meeting. Hosts can assign alternative hosts when they schedule a meeting. Only users with a BGSU Zoom account can be added as an alternate host when scheduling a meeting.
Please note: If the email address of the alternative host does not populate, it may mean that the individual either does not have a Zoom account or, if they are a BGSU faculty, staff, or student, has not yet claimed their BGSU Zoom account. BGSU users can claim their account by following the guide: Zoom Access & Sign-In Information.
Instructions for designating a user as an alternative host are available on the Zoom website here:Designating an Alternative Host
