How do I publish a Canvas Course?

Answer

  1. Navigate to your unpublished course site.
  2. On the right sidebar of your course home page, select the button to publish the course.  Publishing the course site makes the course shell available your students based on your courses settings.  
  3. If you wish to change the start date:
    1. Select Settings from the left navigation.
    2. Select Course Details tab from the top of the screen.
    3. Select Course from the Participation drop down.
    4. Enter a new Start Date and/or end date..
    5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Update Course Details.
