Change BGSU Password
If your password is set to expire soon, or you wish to change your BGSU password for other reasons, you can do so by following these steps:
- Log in to MyBGSU.
- Select the Tools & Resources Quick Link menu.
- Select Password Management from the drop-down menu.
- Under Security Methods, select Update next to Password.
- Select Yes.
- Authenticate via Multifactor Authentication.
- Enter your current password to verify.
- Review the password requirements and then enter the new password into the new password and re-enter password fields.
- Select Reset Password.
Reset Forgotten BGSU Password
If you have forgotten your BGSU password you can change/reset your password via self-service by following these instructions:
- Navigate to MyBGSU.
- On the log in page select Forgot Password?.
- Enter your full BGSU email address.
- Select Send me a verification email.
- Check your BGSU email for the password reset email from BGSU Information Technology Services <its-noreply@bgsu.edu>.
- Select the Reset Password link to reveal a code.
- Please note: password reset link expires in 5 minutes
- Return the the Reset Password screen and select Enter a Verification Code and enter the code you received.
- Select Verify.
- Enter the answer to your security question and select Verify..
- Review the password requirements and then enter the new password into the new password and re-enter password fields.
- Select Reset Password.
Password Reset Limitation
Users can change their password only once per 24-hour period.
