If your password is set to expire soon, or you wish to change your BGSU password for other reasons, you can do so by following these steps:

1. Log in to MyBGSU. 
2. Select the Tools & Resources Quick Link menu. 
3. Select Password Management from the drop-down menu.
4. Under Security Methods, select Update next to Password. 
5. Select Yes. 
6. Authenticate via Multifactor Authentication.
7. Enter your current password to verify.
8. Review the password requirements and then enter the new password into the new password and re-enter password fields.
9. Select Reset Password.

Reset Forgotten BGSU Password 

If you have forgotten your BGSU password you can change/reset  your password via self-service by following these instructions:

1. Navigate to MyBGSU. 
2. On the log in page select Forgot Password?. 
3. Enter your full BGSU email address. 
4. Select Send me a verification email.
   1. Check your BGSU email for the password reset email from BGSU Information Technology Services <its-noreply@bgsu.edu>.
   2. Select the Reset Password link to reveal a code.
      • Please note: password reset link expires in 5 minutes
   3. Return the the Reset Password screen and select Enter a Verification Code and enter the code you received.
   4. Select Verify. 
5. Enter the answer to your security question and select Verify..
   1. Review the password requirements and then enter the new password into the new password and re-enter password fields.
   2. Select Reset Password.

Password Reset Limitation

Users can change their password only once per 24-hour period.
