Where should I look to find information and guides for using Canvas?

Guides for using Canvas can be found at http://guides.canvaslms.com/

  • Click on Read the Guides and select Student Guide.
• Instructors
  • Click on Read the Guides and select Instructor Guide.

ITS has also posted a FAQ link for instructors in Canvas that is available on the global help menu and titled Canvas tips for BGSU faculty. The link is available for all Canvas teachers and admins.

  • If you can not find your deleted item, look for it in Canvas Beta bgsu.beta.instructure.com. Please be aware that Beta is cleared on a weekly basis.

  • Contact the ITS Service Desk to put in a ticket to reset your course.

  • Overwritten content can not be recovered.

  • Faculty can no longer change the course name of courses in Canvas. This change helps to reduce student confusion in finding their semester courses on their Canvas dashboard; the consistency in having all courses follow predictable naming patterns is beneficial to students.  Faculty can still create and modify the Course Nickname field from the Canvas dashboard.
