Connect Android Device eduroam Network

How do I connect my Android device to the eduroam network?

Answer

These settings will connect you to the eduroam wireless network.  You will only need to follow these steps once per device.  

Instructions for connecting to the eduroam network

  1. Open your phone's Settings menu.
  2. Select eduroam from the list of available networks.
  3. Enter the following information:
    1. Method 1
      • EAP Method: PEAP
      • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
      • CA Certificate: select Do not validate
      • Identity: username@bgsu.edu
      • Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
      • PasswordMyBGSU password
    2. Method 2 (Domain needed)
      • EAP Method: PEAP
      • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
      • CA Certificate: select Do not validate
      • Domain: bgsu.edu
      • Identity: username@bgsu.edu
      • Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
      • PasswordMyBGSU password
    3. Method 3 (Android 12+)
      • EAP Method: PEAP
      • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
      • CA Certificate: select Use system certificates
      • Online Certificate Status: select Do not verify
      • Domain: bgsu.edu
      • Identity: username@bgsu.edu
      • Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
      • PasswordMyBGSU password
  4. Select Connect.
  5. You are now connected to the eduroam network.

       Please note: If you are using a Google Pixle 6, there are additional settings to update:

  1. Select Use system certificates under CA Certificate option.
  2. Select Do not verify under Online Certificate Status.
