How do I connect my Android device to the eduroam network?


These settings will connect you to the eduroam wireless network.  You will only need to follow these steps once per device. If you have previously signed in to the secureBG network, please review the steps at the bottom of this page to "forget" the network prior to setting up your device to auto-connect to eduroam

Instructions for connecting to the eduroam network

  1. Open your phone's Settings menu.
  2.  Select eduroam from the list of available networks.
  3. Select Certificate, select Don't validate.
  4. Enter the following information:
    • Identity:
    • Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
    • Password:  MyBGSU password
    • Leave Auto reconnect selected.
    • Method: PEAP, if applicable.
    • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2, if applicable.
  5. Select Connect.

You are now connected to the eduroam network.

Instructions for forgetting a network

If you have connected to the secureBG network in the past, and would like to configure your device to auto-connect to the eduroam network, you will first need to "forget" the secureBG network, and then complete the steps above. To "forget" a network, follow these instructions:

  1. Open Settings on your device, and then select Connections.
  2. Select Wi-Fi
  3. Press and hold on the network you would like to forget and select Forget Network
