How to Create a Canvas Quiz Question Bank

How do I create a question bank in Canvas?

In order to create a quiz that has randomized questions, a question bank must first be created. This guide will show you how to create a question bank that can then be linked to a quiz. For instructions on how to link your question bank to a quiz, see this guide.

1. Begin by signing into Canvas and selecting the course you wish to work on.
2. Select on Quizzes from the navigation pane.
3. Next, select on the ellipses (...) icon next to +Quiz button.
4. Select Manage Question Banks.
5. Next, select the +Add a New Question Bank button.
   • You may also see previously created questions banks here.
6. Give a name to your question bank and select the ENTER or RETURN key to create the question bank.
   • NOTE: Selecting off to the side will not create the question bank. Only selecting ENTER or RETURN will create the question bank.
7. Once created, select your question bank and begin to write questions and answers by selecting the +Add a Question button.
8. Canvas will automatically save your questions and answers as you complete them.
