What applications get published/made available for self service installation?

Answer

ITS follows these guidelines when determining what applications to make available for self-service installation (Macs = Self Service, Windows = Software Center):

  1. The application's licensing needs to cover all faculty, staff, and students, or all faculty or all staff.
    1. License type = Free or Site License, and No license restrictions.
  2. The application needs to be commonly used on campus.
    1. Exceptions can be made at ITS discretion.
  3. The application needs to be unconditionally approved by the ITS Technology Review process.
    1. Exceptions can be made at ITS discretion.
  4. The application needs to be deployable (no security or other technical issues) and maintainable as determined by Deployment Management.
