Transcript Upload Issue

BGSU PDF transcripts downloaded from Parchment are protected files. When a previous student attempts to submit such a file to another university via online application, the file may not be accepted. 

The Office of Registration & Records is aware of this issue.

Cause

"Due to the encryption that’s on the PDF file, you are not able to upload the file. Unfortunately, you can not be sent an unencrypted PDF file for your transcript as they have to be sent securely by law."

Response from Parchment

Workaround

  1. Print the transcript and scan the pages as a new PDF. OR
  2. Take screenshots of the pages in the PDF file and then create a new PDF out of the images.
  3. Check with the recipient to make sure they can accept the files in either of those ways.  
  4. Upload PDF into the application.
