Video Conferencing Disruptions (Zoom/MS Teams)

Question

What should I do if there is a malicious attack/disruption (also known as 'Zoombombing') during a meeting/class conducted using a BGSU-supported video conferencing tool (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc/)?

Answer

If you experience a malicious attack/disruption during a BGSU virtual meeting/class, please report the incident to the University through the Division of Diversity & Belonging using one of the forms on this page. After reviewing the submission, the Division of Diversity & Belonging will involve ITS (specifically IT Security), as needed, throughout the course of the investigation.

In addition to reporting the incident, please review our Knowledge Base articles on securing Zoom classes/meetings. To help mitigate or prevent these occurrences, meeting hosts can utilize features such as locking meetings, disabling participant video, preventing sharing, removing disruptive participants, and more.
