Zoom in Canvas - Student Information

How does a student join a Zoom meeting and review Zoom recordings within Canvas?

Join a Zoom Meeting in Canvas

1. Navigate to your Canvas course. 
2. Select Zoom from the left navigation.
3. On the Upcoming Meetings tab, you will see all of your upcoming/scheduled Zoom meetings.
4. If it is within one hour of the scheduled start time, a Join button should be available. Select Join to join the meeting.
   • If your instructor has selected a setting that does not allow participants to join before the instructor, you may be placed in a waiting room until the instructor joins and permits you to enter the meeting. 

Access Zoom Recordings in Canvas

1. Navigate to your Canvas course. 
2. Select Zoom from the left navigation.
3. Select the Cloud Recordings tab.
4. Select the recording you would like to view based on the topic and the date/time it was recorded.
5. Press play on the video recording. 
6. You may be required to enter a password. If a password is required, it will be copied to your clipboard to paste into the password field. 
   • If you miss/lose this copied password, you can close the video window to return to the recording page and select either the eye icon to view the password or the copy icon to copy the password.
