How to Edit Cursor Effects in Canvas Studio

Question

How do I hide or edit my cursor in Canvas Studio screen recordings?

Answer

By default, when you create a screen recording with Canvas Studio a colored circle will be added around your cursor during the video to make it easier for your viewers to follow. You can hide the cursor completely or edit the color of the circle by following the steps below.

  1. After you have created your screen recording select Edit on the preview screen.
  2. In the right-hand menu, under the Show heading there will be an option listed for Cursor. To leave the cursor visible, leave the box checked. If you would like to hide the cursor, and not have it visible in your video, uncheck the box.
  3. To edit the halo around the cursor when the cursor is enabled, select the circle to the right of the cursor option. This will bring up a menu to change the color of the halo, as well as what color appears when you left and right-click.
  4. To turn off the halo, right-click, or left-click highlighting and select Yes/No
  5. To change the color, select the color swatch and select a new color from the menu.
  6. When you are finished with your edits, select done. To review your edits, select the preview button.
