Editing SharePoint Site Pages/Apps


How do I edit the various pages/apps on my SharePoint Site? 


The following instructions apply to editing Pages or Apps; they will not work for Document Libraries.

  1. Log in to SharePoint with your BGSU username and password
  2. Select the Page/App you would like to edit from the left navigation menu. 
  3. Select the Settings Menu (gear icon) from the top right corner of the page.
  4. Select Edit Page (if you do not see this option, it is likely you are trying to edit a Document Library rather than a Page or App). 
  5. Remove any unwanted components (these are called web parts).
    1. Select the drop-down arrow next to the web part you would like to remove.
    2. Select delete.
  6. To modify the layout:
    1. Select Text Layout from the top ribbon. 
    2. Review and select your preferred layout from the available options.
  7. If you chose a layout with a headerclick into the header text box to add a welcome message, description or instructions about the site. 
    • Use the Format Text tab to edit the font, color, font size, etc. 
  8. Select the Insert tab to insert an image, video, table, or web part into your layout. 
  9. When you are finished making modifications to the page select the Page tab followed by the Save button.
