How do I set a default browser on my device?

Answer

This article contains instructions on how to set a default browser on Mac and/or Windows devices. 

 

Set Default Browser on Mac Device 

  1. Select System Preferences from the Apple menu in the top left corner of desktop. 
  2. Select General.
  3. Select your preferred Default web browser from the options listed in the pop-up menu. 

MacOS Ventura and higher

  1. Select System Settings from the Apple menu in the top left corner of desktop. 
  2. Select Desktop & Dock.
  3. Scroll down to Default web browser
  4. Click the dropdown menu next to it to select your choice from the list of installed browsers.

 

Set Default Browser on Windows Device

  1. Open the Start Menu (Windows icon).
  2. Select Settings (gear icon, bottom left).
  3. Select Apps.
  4. Select Default Apps from the left panel.
  5. Select the browser listed under Web browser.
  6. Choose your preferred default browser from the app menu that appears.
  7. Select Set Default Browser
  8. Close window.
