Classroom Wireless Display Via Zoom

Question

How do I use the Zoom to wireless display from my laptop or tablet in a BGSU Classroom?

Answer

This guide will work in all classrooms equipped with a dedicated computer. All general use classrooms should have this setup, though you may need to confirm with your department if you are assigned to teach in a department owned classroom. This method of sharing is not recommended for showing videos.

  1. Before your class starts, create a Zoom Meeting and make sure you have the meeting information or link ready.
  2. Using the computer in the classroom, launch the Zoom application and join the meeting you have ready to go.
    • You can disable your camera in this meeting to keep things simple.
  3. Launch the Zoom Meetings App on your laptop or tablet and join the same meeting.
    • Mute your device's speakers so that no audio plays back on your device.
    • Mute your device's microphone inside of Zoom so that no audio plays back into the room.
    • Select the Share button inside of Zoom on your device and then select the content you wish to wireless display.
  4. When you are finished using your laptop, select stop share on your laptop.
  5. Select End Meeting from the bottom right corner of the Zoom Application on the classroom computer.
