What is it?
BGLinux is a virtual machine running the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system with four Intel Xeon E5-2667 v3 3.20GHz virtual CPUs and 16GB of RAM. It is generally used by students and faculty to run various Unix applications such as compilers, mathematical packages, and simulations.
How to request it?
Accounts can be requested by submitting the request form on this page.
If you need a BGLinux class account, a subdirectory for that class will be added to your individual BGLinux account. You will receive instructions for setting up your BGLinux class account from your professor.
How to use it?
BGLinux supports using SSH or SFTP to access the system. The Knowledge Base articles below may assist you with using BGLinux.
