How do I obtain my free license of Windows 10 or Windows 11?

This option is only open to current BGSU students.
Note when choosing key
You cannot redeem both a Windows 10 and a Windows 11 license. You may only obtain one license for free as a student.
Windows 10 reaches End of Life (EoL) on October 14th, 2025. At that point, Microsoft will no longer provide any updates or support.
As of 4/22/22, you can upgrade from 10 to 11 for free if your pc is compatible with Windows 11. Microsoft has not indicated if or when this free upgrade avenue will close.
Answer
Follow the instructions below to obtain your one-time Windows 10/11 key:
- Navigate to OnTheHub and sign in with your BGSU credentials.
- Choose Windows 10 or Windows 11 Product Key.
- Select Add to Cart.
- Follow the directions on your screen to finish the checkout process.
- Save a copy of your License Key in a secure location such as OneDrive.
- After 30 days, you will not be able to obtain your key from OnTheHub, so be sure to save it somewhere
