Report Fraudulent Messages


I received a message to my BGSU email account that I believe may be fraudulent - what should I do?


  1. Don't respond/click on any of the links within the message.
  2. Forward the suspicious message to 
  3. Delete the message from your inbox.

Should the ITS security team determine that the email is fraudulent and being sent to a broad base of BGSU account holders and/or other known victims, and ITS Fraud Notice message will be sent out that will include a warning an more information about the suspicious message. Otherwise, the individual reporting the suspicious email may receive a direct message back from an ITS security analyst.
