Wireless Microphones in Classrooms

Question

How do I use the wireless microphone in my classroom?

Answer

Larger classrooms across campus are often equipped with a wireless microphone for in-room amplification only. If you are not sure if your room has a microphone, review the list of equipment for your room inside our classroom descriptions. This microphone will make it easier for your students in the room to hear you, but it will not improve the audio for any student accessing your classroom remotely.

  1. Locate the microphone in your room in the cabinet, eNook, or instructor podium. It may also be located inside of a drawer.
  2. Review the microphone and ensure the label on the device matches the room you are located in.
  3. Press and hold the power button on top of the microphone for a few seconds until the screen powers ON..
  4. Test the connection by speaking into the lapel microphone.
  5. To MUTE the microphone, PRESS the power button and the light on the microphone will turn from green to red.  Please remember that putting the microphone on mute does not turn off the microphone.
  6. Press and hold the power button to turn the microphone OFF when you are finished using it to preserve the batteries.

If the microphone does not power on, use our information below to contact ITS for new batteries.
