Can I add a secondary non-BGSU email address to my Canvas profile for receiving notifications?

Answer

Yes, follow the steps below to add an additional email to your Canvas profile.

Add New Email Address

  1. Log in to Canvas
  2. Select Account from the left navigation menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select + Email Address from the right side of the User Settings window under Ways to Contact.
  5. Enter the email address you wish to add.
  6. Select Register Email.
  7. Canvas will send a confirmation email to the new email address.
  8. Confirm your email address from the Canvas email by selecting the Click here to confirm registration link.
  9. The new email address will now be added to your Canvas account.

Setup Notifications for New Email Address

  1. Log in to Canvas
  2. Select Account from the left navigation menu.
  3. Select Notifications.
  4. Select the bell icon for the course activities for which you would like to receive notifications under the new email address column.
  5. Select the frequency for which you would like to receive notifications.
  6. Repeat steps 4-5 until you have set up all of the notifications you wish to receive.
