Exporting a Narrated PowerPoint as a Video File

How do I create a video from my narrated PowerPoint?

Answer

Use this teaching strategy to export your narrated PowerPoint as a video that can be uploaded to Canvas or YouTube. You will need to create the voice narrations in PowerPoint before exporting it as a video.

  1. Select the File tab in PowerPoint.
  2. Select Export from the left-hand menu.
  3. Choose Create a Video.
  4. Here you have the option to change the presentation quality and set your timings and narrations.
    • We recommend leaving your video at Presentation Quality, using Recorded Timings and Narrations.
  5. Choose the number of seconds spent on each slide based on how long you prefer if you have not set narration on each slide.
  6. Select Create Video.
  7. Choose the name and location of the video file you are creating and your video will begin to render.
