Who can use it?
BGSU Faculty, Staff
What is it?
This service is used to request new instructional software be added to devices in a university computer lab or classroom. It may also be used to request an upgrade to existing software.
Where to get it?
Service requests may be made using this “Request Software” form on this page.
Before submitting a request, please review the software available on this page.
How to use it?
Only software that is currently being used for BGSU class instruction may be installed. Installation of any pre-release (alpha/beta), preview or trial versions of software are not permitted.
•A new form must be submitted for each software title and installation location.
•Software new to the labs or classrooms is subject to a legal review of all associated terms and conditions (T&Cs), end-user license agreements (EULAs), and/or privacy policies by the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). Based on the workload of OGC, this process can take a considerable amount of time, so please plan accordingly. Requests made prior to review by OGC will be placed on hold until approved.
•Once any necessary OGC approvals have been completed, ITS will work to complete the installation within 10 business days of receipt of the software.
After submitting the form, please deliver the following items to the Technology Support Center (Hayes Hall 110) if not available electronically:
•A physical copy of the media needed to install the software. If the software is available via the web, a link to the software installer page can be submitted with your request form instead.
•All installation materials needed to install the software, including any serial numbers, license codes, dongles, or guides. These may instead be attached to your request form if available electronically.
•A copy of the software’s license agreement (a legal document describing the usage and limitations of the software) and any additional terms and conditions provided by the software developer. If these are available electronically, please provide direct links in the "Additional Notes” section of the request form, or attach copies to the request form.
