Printing from a Lab Computer to a Lab Printer

Question

How do I print from a lab computer to the printer located in that lab?

Answer

All lab printers have the ability to print in color or black and white. Lab printers are also set  to default to double-sided prints. To change this setting to print 1-sided, please make sure you select print one-sided in Printer Properties before you send your job to the print queue.

  1. Navigate to the document you would like to print and open the Print dialog box in that application.
  2. Select BG-Print-Color to print in color or BG-Print-BW to print in black and white.
  3. Go to the lab printer and swipe your BGSU ID card on the touch panel or select the keyboard icon in the top right corner of the screen and enter your BGSU username and password.
  4. You will now see your list of available prints in the virtual printer queue. Select the document(s) you would like to print on the touch panel and then Select Print.
  5. Once your document has been released, you will see a print job released successfully notification on the touch panel
  6. Retrieve your document. You can then logout of the printer by Selecting Log Out in the top right corner of the touch panel, or you will be automatically logged out after approximately one minute of inactivity.

*If you experience issues printing, please contact the TSC and have the printer device information/ComDoc Contract Number on hand.
