Legacy Control Systems

Legacy Control Systems

Some rooms on campus still have legacy control systems. These rooms are easy to use but do not have the touch panel common in our modern rooms.

Using The System

Legacy control systems use a combination of physical buttons to control what is being displayed.

Turning the System On

Make sure the main system power is on and the switch is glowing.

Turn the equipment on by pressing the On button at the bottom of the white panel. The projector takes a few minutes to warm up.

Using the Instructor PC

To use the computer located in the room, press the INSTR PC button at the top of the white panel and wait for the indicator light above the button to turn red.

The computer can be controlled anywhere in the room using the wireless keyboard and mouse in the cabinet.

Using the VGA Cable

If you would like to use your own device, you will need to plug the VGA cable into your device first. Use this guide for more information.

To turn the VGA connection on, press the VGA button in the top left of the white touch panel.

Controlling the Volume

The system should be set to a normal volume range, so check the volume on the computer first. You can control the audio in the room directly using the Vol Down and Vol Up buttons just above the On button if needed.

Turning the System Off

When you are finished teaching, you can turn the system off using the OFF button at the bottom of the white panel.
