How do I add cursor effects to my video in Camtasia?

Answer

Follow the instructions below to add Cursor Effects to your video in Camtasia.

  1. Move the play head tool to the point in your video that you would like the Cursor Effects to begin
  2. Select this point in your video and then select "S" on your keyboard. This will split your video.
  3. Move the play head tool to the point in your video that you would like the Cursor Effects to end
  4. Select this point in your video and t then select "S" on your keyboard to split the video again.
  5. Select that segment of your video (the middle segment you just created).
  6. Select Cursor Effects from the Camtasia menu on the left side of the screen. 
  7. In the Cursor Effects menu, you will see the available Cursor Effect options including a demo of what each one looks like. 
    • Additional tabs in this window provide options for highlighting left and right clicks. 
  8. Drag and drop your preferred Cursor Effect onto the video segment your timeline. This will apply the effect to the cursor in your recording.
  9. To make the transition more smooth, select the Properties button and increase/decrease the Ease In and Ease Out options until you reach the preferred transition.
  10. To delete the Cursor Effect, select the Properties button followed by Delete
