If you are unable to download and install Camtasia, please refer to the following software that are approved and free to end users:

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) Available for both Mac and PC.

QuickTime may be installed by default (macOS only)

Uploading a Camtasia file into Canvas

  1. When you are finished recording and editing your video through Camtasia, select the green Share button located in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Local File from the menu.
  3. Select the Custom Production Settings drop-down and select MP4 Only (up to 720p).
  4. Select Next.
  5. Name your video and verify where it will be saved.
  6. Select Finish.
  7. Once the video is finished rendering, you can use the following guide to add it to Canvas using the Rich Content Editor
