Connecting Your SmartTV to the Internet

How do I connect my SmartTV to the Internet while I am on campus?

You can connect your SmartTV over wireless or wired access to the Internet, but you will need to register it with BGSU first. Before you can do that, you will need to find the Physical or MAC address for your SmartTV.

SmartTVs powered by Google Chromecast are not supported.

Given how many brands and models there are, BGSU does not provide guides for locating that MAC Address for any SmartTV, but we can recommend that you find the manufacturer's guide for your device and use it to locate your MAC Address.

If you are unable to locate the MAC Address of your SmartTV, please contact our office directly for assistance.

Once you have that MAC Address, use the following Video to get yourself connected:

Link to Network Registration Page (Link only works on phone or computer connected to BGSU's network)

Wireless Network Name and Password:

Name: Res-MediaNet

Password: B6SUMN3t

Watch the video for instructions on registering your device before connecting.

Be sure to wait 5 minutes after registering your device before restarting your device to connect.
