Creating an Item Bank in New Quizzes

 How do I create an Item Bank in Canvas New Quizzes?

This guide will show you how to create a question bank that can then be linked to a quiz. For instructions on how to move your question bank to a quiz, see this guide. 

1. Begin by signing in to Canvas and selecting the course you wish to work on. 
2. Select Quizzes from the navigation pane. 
3. To open an assessment, select the title of the assessment. To create a new assessment, select the Add Quiz button.
4. Select the ellipses (...) next to the Return button. 
5. Select Manage Item Banks. 
6. Select the +Bank button. 
7. Give your question bank a name and then select Create Bank to create the question bank. 
8. Once created, select your question bank and begin to write questions and answers by selecting the +New button. 
9. Select the question type, enter question details, then select the Done. 
   • Repeat until all questions have been added to the Item Bank. Canvas will automatically save your questions and answers as you complete them.  
10. When finished adding questions to the Item Bank, select Return to return to the quiz builder.
