CRES Secure Email: Account Creation


How do I setup a Cisco Secure Email (CRES) account?


The Cisco Secure Email (CRES) service can be used to send and receive secured emails. If you currently do not have a CRES account, a new account can be requested through the TSC.

Once your request has been processed, you will follow this process to fianlize your account:

  1. You will receive an email with the subject New Account notifying that You have received a secure message.
  2. Select the securedoc attachment.
    • This will open the CRES login page.
    • You may need to select "Open" in a security prompt.
  3. Select Register.
  4. Follow the on screen prompts to create the account. 
    • Passwords must contain a special character and do not sync with your BGSU password.
  5. An activation email will be sent to your BGSU email. Select the link in the email to activate the CRES account.
  6. Open the original email attachment and log in using the CRES account that you just created.
