Unable to Schedule Webex Meeting

Question

Why am I unable to schedule a Webex meeting using the web interface?

Answer

If you are unable to schedule a meeting via the Webex web application your default audio settings for the event may be set incorrectly.   Follow the instructions below to confirm or update your settings:

  1. Navigate to Webex and sign in with your BGSU username/password
  2. Select Preferences from the left navigation menu. 
  3. Choose the Audio and Video tab.
  4. Under Audio Connect, confirm your Audio Connection Type is listed as VoIP.
    1. If your Audio Connection Type is listed as Other Teleconference or None, select VoIP from the drop-down.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save.

ITS will decommission the Canvas Webex integration at the end of the Fall 2021 Semester. In response to faculty input, the Canvas Zoom integration was implemented during the Fall 2020 Semester as a replacement for Webex. Faculty who have not yet made the transition to Zoom should prepare to do so in the coming months, which includes the export of videos currently stored in Webex. Visit www.bgsu.edu/webex for more information.
