Sending Chat Messages as a Host/Panelist During a Webex Event


How do I send a chat message as a host/panelist to an attendee during a Webex event?


During an event, you can send chat messages to a specific attendee. If there is a large number of attendees in the event, you can search for an attendee's name.

  1. Open the Chat panel by selecting the chat icon in the meeting menu.
  2. In the Send to drop-down list, select Select an Attendee...
  3. In the Select an Attendee dialog box, select the attendee's name in the list and select OK.
    1. To search for an attendee's name, enter all or a portion of the name and then select Find. To refresh the attendee list, select Refresh
  4. Enter your message in the chat text box.
  5. Depending on the operating system you use, follow this step:
    1. Windows: Select Send.
    2. Mac: Select enter on your keyboard.

The attendee's name you selected is added to the Send to drop-down list for future communication during the event.
