How do I set up approval rules for my Webex event registrants?

Answer

If you require approval for registration requests, you can set up rules in advance to automatically approve or reject registrants based on specific criteria. Follow these instructions to set up approval rules.

Webex Events New

  1. Schedule a Webex event.
  2. Select Show Advanced Options.
  3. Select Scheduling options.
  4. Select the check box for Registration: Required.
  5. Select Automatically accept requests that follow approval rules. Then select Set up approval rules.
  6. Set your specific parameters
  7. When finished with each rule, select Add Rule.
  8. When you have finished setting up all of your rules, select Save. 

Webex Events Classic

  1. From the Schedule an Event page, navigate to the Attendees & Registration section.
  2. Select Yes next to Approval Required.
  3. Select Set up approval rules.
  4. Set your specific parameters
  5. When finished with each rule, select Add Rule.
  6. When you have finished setting up all of your rules, select Save. 

ITS will decommission administrative use of the Webex application on April 21, 2022. Academic use of Webex (Canvas integration) will be removed as of December 20, 2021, and the Webex application will be removed from classroom computers over winter break. New University-owned devices no longer include the Webex software; Zoom and Microsoft Teams are available as a replacement for Webex. Visit www.bgsu.edu/webex for more information.
