Webex in Canvas Password Required Issue

Why are some students required to provide a meeting password to join a Webex meeting scheduled within Canvas?

Some students are prompted to enter a Webex meeting password when attempting to join a Webex meeting scheduled by an instructor via Canvas. This has caused some students to be unable to join their course meetings, even though most students will not need to enter a password. Follow the steps below to reduce the chances of this issue happening to your meeting.

Fix the Issue On Most Devices

Please ensure that you install the Cisco Webex Meetings app on your device prior to your class meeting. This application will prevent you from needing to enter a password.
