What are BGSU's guidelines for using Dropbox, Google Drive and other cloud storage services?
Answer
ITS recommends Microsoft OneDrive or Microsoft SharePoint for file storage, sharing, and collaboration. The use of Dropbox, Google Drive, or other cloud storage services is not recommended or supported by BGSU Information Technology Services (ITS). If you use Dropbox, Google Drive, or other cloud storage services, you assume complete liability for the data stored on those services, since they are not managed or supported by ITS. Depending on the data you may also be in violation of university policy. Under no circumstances should any university limited access or restricted data be stored in any unsupported storage provider.
