BGSU Faculty, Staff, Students

What is it?

AlertBG is an alert system used to notify the campus community of emergencies such as fires, severe weather, and other safety threats. Notices are sent via text message, email, social media, digital signs and updates to www.bgsu.edu.

Where to get it?

To access your AlertBG account, please select the "Access AlertBG" button on this page.

All active faculty, staff and students are automatically enrolled to receive email notifications.

Text message alerts are sent to faculty, staff and student phones that have updated their personal information with a "cellular phone" label.

Users can add one additional phone number and email address (parent, spouse, friend) to their account.

How to use it?

The Primary Cell Phone number is the primary number on file with the University.  To review how AlertBG is contacting you, or to add a Seconday Cell Phone, please visit this link.  All users will receive Bowling Green Campus messages. Users that would like to receive messages pertaining to Firelands campus as well must select that preference using the link above.

Users may decide to "opt-out" of messages on this page by selecting "off" next to any of the contact options.

If you are not a current student and would like to stop receiving messages, you can reply to any AlertBG text message with the word STOP in all capital letters to be removed.

How much does it cost?

There are no costs associated with this service.
