What happens to my primary device during the upgrade procedure?


Primary devices will be upgraded during an in-person appointment with an ITS technician. During these appointments, the technician will:

  1. Backup all data
  2. Initiate the Windows 10 upgrade procedure. This includes:
  3. Configure BitLocker (encryption software).
  4. Transfer all backed-up data back to the device.
  5. Request the client acknowledge and sign-off that the upgrade process is complete.
    • This is a physical document that will be presented to the user for review at the end or the appointment.

*Please note: Upgrades take approximately 2.5 hours to complete and you will need to be present at the beginning and end of the upgrade process. Some models may need to be replaced with a gently used device of the same model.
